We love our children at Resurrection! In fact, you might say that we don’t have a children’s ministry, but rather are a children’s ministry, as 50% of our congregation is under the age of 18. Pastor Jimmy has spent many years ministering to children as a camp counselor & director, nursery coordinator, and children’s director. He is passionate to make children welcome and included and see that they are engaged and discipled in their faith. For questions or more info about our children’s programs, contact us!

nursery (ages 0-3)

On Sunday mornings, we offer a nursery as a safe and welcoming place for children ages 0-3 during the entire worship service. The nursery is adjacent to the sanctuary with a window into the sanctuary. You are welcome to leave your child in the nursery with our caregivers or take a child in there yourself and remain with them.

Kids Time (pre-K to 2nd Grade)

For children ages Pre-K to 2nd grade we offer a separate, kid-specific environment during the 2nd half of the worship service. At the rec center, the KidsTime room is located across the hall from the worship space and there is a greeting time in the middle of the service that allows kids to go out for KidsTime

in the worship service

All ages are also welcome in the worship service wiggles and all! At Resurrection Community we are making a concerted effort for all ages of children to feel MORE welcome and comfortable in the worship service by including them in leading prayers, speaking more directly to them during the parts of the sermon, and offering prizes for completing the kids worship guide during the service.

SUNDAY SCHOOL

We have a Sunday School hour on Sunday mornings at the VLC building from 9:30-10:30 AM. During this time, children actively learn the big story of God’s love for his people and how to apply it to their lives.

beyond sunday mornings

There are lots of opportunities for children and families to connect with one another and with God beyond Sunday mornings. These include our weekly Dinner & Prayer, other social events, community camping trip, flashlight Easter egg hunt, and summer sports camp!

Child safety

In Sunday morning activities and other special events, we take child safety and security seriously. All staff and volunteers follow our child and youth safety guidelines and regular volunteers are background-checked and trained through MinistrySafe. We also utilize secure check-in/out procedures when children are participating separately from their parents.
